E-meet our TEK Interns

The cohort of Native American Interns are completing our Traditional Ecological Knowledge Workforce training at EWF this fall. They are giving their final presentations next week and you are invited. This special event is being held remotely on Zoom. You are welcome to join us Friday afternoon, December 16 at 1:30 – 3:30 pm.

The Traditional Ecological Knowledge Workforce Development Internship that we have provided the past two years, has now been combined with our USDA funded project, Native Agriculture Biodiversity Accelerator. So these interns have also been exploring agricultural and horticultural microenterprises. They will discuss their background along with the agricultural or horticultural career pathway they are planning. Becoming an owner-operator of one’s own business is not for everyone but we have encouraged our interns to consider it as an option. We will continue to provide support over three years as they strengthen their self-employment business skills.

Our partner at the Agriculture Complex at Chemeketa Community College is hosting this event. However, due to the continuing COVID pandemic and other infectious diseases still in our community, we are offering our guests to join us remotely. We look forward to hearing from you. Please send an RSVP to Sara at info@elderberrywisdom.org and we will send a confirmation and the Zoom link to you.
