We held another book reading for the community in Cottage Grove, OR during their Cottage Grove Art Walk last Friday, February 28. Dozens of community members joined us to visit, socialize and pick up a copy of The Seven Commandments of the Sacred Buffalo Calf Woman: Martin High Bear (1919-1995). This is a very special community that I enjoyed being a small part of for a few hours. Thanks to our corporate attorney, Jud Carusone and his wife, Jenny, we were able to gift copies to Native American elders and community leaders attending the Public Interest Environmental Law Conference that weekend. Winona LaDuke (White Earth Nation) was in Eugene for another event, “An Evening with Winona LaDuke” last week and gave a presentation titled "Prophecies, Seeds, and the Rights of Mother Earth". She had known Martin decades ago, so we gifted a copy and expressed appreciation to her for her service to our greater community.

A special bonus during my trip south was the stop I made to meet with Joseph Schneiderhan, Sustainability Specialist at Mountain Rose Herbs in Eugene. They have taken special interest in our work and we have appreciated their support and friendship.
Special thanks to our publisher Kris Millegan and publicist, Kiya Wilson for all their efforts sharing the wisdom of Martin’s life experience with our local community. They are planning a couple more book presentation events in the coming months including an event in Portland later this year. If anyone is interested in knowing more about the biography and the visions that Martin was gifted by the Spirit World, please feel free to contact us at Elderberry Wisdom Farm or purchase the book. You can also subscribe to our newsletter since articles on the impact on Martin’s life and work are shared monthly.
